Students Run the Streets
Students Run the Streets is a free, after school running club that works with middle and high school students. Through exercise, mentorship and supplemental education we work to help every student achieve their personal best in all aspects of life. We currently work in two different schools; Heritage High School and Huntington Middle School, both located in Newport News, Virginia, with thirty (30) students and ten (10) coaches. Both schools are Title I Schools, meaning the overwhelming majority of their students come from disadvantaged homes, and are considered‚ “at-risk”. With the extra funds, we will be able to expand to another school and work with more students!
